Our History

CAP Advisors Inc. was founded by the late Graham Carter in 1992. After a successful career in investment banking in Toronto and New York, Graham decided to work with his family and friends to improve their wealth management. Over the years, Graham became one of Canada’s most successful insurance advisors, on the list of the top 5 producers annually for decades, and more importantly one of the industry’s best and most highly respected thought leaders.

Our reputation in the insurance industry and community are attributable to Graham. Today, as a second generation operated firm, his sons carry on his legacy and continue his vision of helping affluent families with their life insurance and estate planning.

CAP Advisors is one of the leading boutique life insurance firms in the country. We place policies with the largest carriers in the country, including Canada Life, Manulife Financial, and Sun Life. We work with top law firms, accounting firms and investment counselors to help our clients define and build a solid and sustainable wealth management plan. A key building block to the overall plan is life insurance and this is our focus.

Meet The Team

Luke Carter

PRESIDENT

Luke specializes in using life insurance for financial security and tax & estate planning. He works closely with affluent families and their family office teams, as well as their lawyers and accountants, and is passionate about tailoring customized insurance strategies to meet client goals.

Luke received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance & Accounting from the University of Colorado, Leeds School of Business. He formerly worked as an Insurance & Financial Advisor with MassMutual and Northwestern Mutual in Denver, Colorado, before returning to his roots in Canada. Luke is a licensed Insurance Agent, is an active member of Advocis, and is currently pursuing his Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) designation and Canadian Securities Course (CSC).

Dallas Carter

VICE PRESIDENT

Dallas can show you how to use life insurance for financial security and tax efficient wealth solutions. He oversees the investment allocation in our clients’ exempt life insurance policies, using them to shelter investment assets from income tax.

Dallas received a Bachelors Business Degree majoring in Finance from the University of Western Ontario. He has a keen interest in investment management and formerly worked as an Investment Analyst Intern at Manulife Private Wealth. Dallas is a licensed Insurance Agent, is an active member of Advocis, has his Canadian Securities Course (CSC), and is currently pursuing his Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

Claire Del Net

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Claire is responsible for managing the operations of the firm and has been with the company since its inception. Claire has held various positions in corporate management and client service, and has over 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry. She has served on Advisory Boards for Manulife Financial and Sun Life and on the Board of Directors and Financial Committee of Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography.
Claire has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University with a Major in Accounting & Finance, a Certificate in Financial Planning from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning, a Certified Executor Advisor (CEA) designation, and is a licensed insurance agent.

Tracey Morse

DIRECTOR OF LIFE INSURANCE

Tracey manages the insurance book of the firm and provides outstanding client service. She has held various client service positions during her over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Tracey holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Seneca College with a major in business administration. She has an Associate, Customer Service designation from LOMA, is a licensed insurance agent and is a member of the Elite Field Advisory Board for Manulife Financial.

Elain Spitz

As the front line Ambassador for CAP Advisors, Elain provides first class customer support to clients and visitors. She works with the team for administrative support, bookkeeping and expense management, office management, and special projects.
Elain’s client service experience spans over 25 years in the insurance and financial services industries.
