Our History

CAP Advisors Inc. was founded by Graham Carter in 1992. After a successful career in investment banking in Toronto and New York, Graham decided to work with his family and friends to improve their financial planning and wealth management. Early in his new career, Graham met Paul Leonard, one of the great practitioners in the life insurance business, and was introduced to the power of insurance as a tool for tax, retirement and estate planning.

CAP Advisors is now one of the leading boutique life insurance firms in the country. We place policies with the largest carriers in Canada, including Canada Life, Manulife Financial, and Sun Life. We work with top law firms, accounting firms and investment counselors to help our clients define and build a solid and sustainable wealth management plan. A key building block to the overall plan is life insurance and this is our focus.

Meet The Team

Graham M. Carter

PRESIDENT & CEO

Graham received an Honours AB in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. After working ten years in New York and Toronto with Chemical Bank, TD Bank and Burns Fry (now Nesbitt Burns), Graham moved into the life insurance business.
Graham’s background in economics, accounting and capital markets is unique in the life insurance industry. He is a frequent speaker to life insurance agents and financial advisors across Canada and works with some of the wealthiest families in the country.
Graham has a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and is the past Chair of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriters (CALU).

Dallas Carter

CLIENT ADVISOR

Dallas received a Bachelors Business Degree majoring in Finance from the University of Western Ontario. He has a keen interest in investment management and formerly worked as an Investment Analyst Intern at Manulife Private Wealth.

As a Client Advisor at CAP, Dallas can show you how to use life insurance for financial security as well as for tax & estate planning. He helps oversee the investment allocation in our clients’ exempt life insurance policies, using them to shelter investment assets from income tax. Dallas is a licensed insurance agent and has his Canadian Securities Course (CSC).

Luke Carter

CLIENT ADVISOR

Luke received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance & Accounting from the University of Colorado, Leeds School of Business. He is passionate about financial planning and tailoring customized insurance strategies to meet client goals. Luke formerly worked as an Insurance & Financial Advisor with MassMutual and Northwestern Mutual in Denver, Colorado, before returning to his roots in Canada.

As a Client Advisor at CAP, Luke can show you how to use life insurance for financial security as well as for tax & estate planning. Luke is a licensed insurance agent, and is currently pursuing his Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) and Canadian Securities Course (CSC).

Claire Del Net

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Claire is responsible for managing the operations of the firm and has been with the company since its inception. Claire has held various positions in corporate management and client service, and has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry. She has served on Advisory Boards for Manulife Financial and Sun Life and on the Board of Directors and Financial Committee of Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography.
Claire has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University with a Major in Accounting & Finance, a Certificate in Financial Planning from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning, a Certified Executor Advisor (CEA) designation, and is a licensed insurance agent.

Tracey Morse

DIRECTOR OF LIFE INSURANCE

Tracey manages the insurance book of the firm and provides outstanding client service. She has held various client service positions during her over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Tracey holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Seneca College with a major in business administration. She has an Associate, Customer Service designation from LOMA, is a licensed insurance agent and is a member of the Elite Field Advisory Board for Manulife Financial.

Elain Spitz

As the front line Ambassador for CAP Advisors, Elain provides first class customer support to clients and visitors. She works with the team for administrative support, bookkeeping and expense management, office management, and special projects.
Elain’s client service experience spans over 20 years in the insurance and financial services industries.
